Went with a friend to a local bazaar for her to purchase some goodies before returning to America in July.
The bazaars in this part of the world are part of the ancient Silk Road network of trade routes through which goods and ideas traveled for centuries before the sea routes opened. Most times there is a mosque right next to a bazaar which shows the importance of religious ideas spreading through commercial routes.
Spice trade was also very important along the route.
And where people are shopping, they must eat. A local doner guy sells his shaved meat sandwiches.
Hand-crafted ceramic plates.
At the close of the day we ventured up to a popular overlook. This city sprawls on for miles and miles and miles!
